Exterior help ASAP

I am in a time crunch to decide what to do about my exterior. Unfortunately, my budget is somewhat limited, please give any and all advice and mock ups that include 6-7 inch lap and board and batten siding options (alone or mixed). Thanks!!

You should stick with horizontal lap siding because:

1) Your front is very horizontal. Vertical elements are going to make it look like a checkboard and placement of board and batten between your windows, at the edge of the garage, etc is going to be tough, unless the verticals are in different places on the first and second floors, which will emphasize an odd-checkerboard effect, rather than the vertical effect people choose board and batten for.

2) Lap siding tends to shed water better and you appear to have had a water problem from your roof-gutter arrangement.

Finally, wood siding can last for a very long time. I have an 100 year old house and some of the siding appears to be original. You can replace damaged siding and just paint, which would be cheaper than re-siding the whole house.

I like the blue with white trim. I'd worry that if you changed the color to white with white trim, you'd end up making your house look striped, because the porch and garage roofs would end up being stronger elements, when the windows don't have contrasting trim.

Plain white siding but with red door and red brick patio/walkway. Red Adirondack chairs on the porch. Work on landscaping and hardscaping. Paint your fence black.

I love these pictures and suggestions, would you suggest just stick with horizontal/lap siding?

This is so helpful! Thank you. Idk if it's because we're near the coast in SC but our cedar siding isn't holding up the best, there is damage in a lot of places and I think it's time to go. I think we're going to try a gray with white trim and black accents, this picture speaks to me. A similar tone to the blue?

I like that color you just posted better than all white. It's possible that you would have to tone down your trim to a warmer white after applying this body color. I don't know if you were planning on painting the trim as well as doing new siding. Look at a sample of the siding against your existing trim and see how it looks. Look at it close up and from varying distances. Even if it doesn't quite work you could always paint the trim next year. Everything doesn't have to be perfect right away.
