You can probably skim aThat wall out a bit and then let the tile take up the rest of the gap.

You could do any of several things but the point is that this is a new install and you shouldn't have to. The gap is too big; whoever installed it knows that & the proprietor of business knows that.

OTOH, if the supplier offers a 50% discount, I could work around & live with it. Probably.

If you do a short backsplash made of the same material as the countertop it should cover the gap. I like the look.

Is the wall behind the cabinets drywalled floor to ceiling? Almost looks like a recess at the backsplash.

You call the fabricator and have him/her come out and ask them how THEY are going to remedy the problem. On their dime. And you stop the check now before it's cashed.

Is it possible the drywall was cut out and replaced by a thinner backer board (1/4" backer board vs 1/2" drywall), contributing to the larger gap? In that case there's an easy fix.
