Yes- a track arm is modern without any curves in contrast to a rolled arm or sock arm style.

Ideally, an open floor plan should be designed holistically. Pick a palette and use one color for as the dominant color in one room, and another as the dominant color in the other. Whichever colors you didn't use as the dominant one, you can use as accents, e.g. paint, pillows, rugs, etc.

So Sabrina, would my dominant color in the sunroom be off white because of my sofa? Brown walls seem to overtake and dominate in my opinion. The color was here when I moved in- I might swap it out for something else. When I replace the sofa in living room would another gray sofa or a dark beige work better… or neither?
