There probably is a great deal of information that would enable a rosarian to identify this rose, or at least into which class it might be grouped.. My thought was "Celsiana" although of course the color is wrong, but what struck me so keenly was the life and joy in this portrait of both the rose and the bird. Middle Eastern art of a certain period was so sophisticated, and in that I'd include the Mughal period in India, and so incredibly beautiful and alive
