First rec is not to use Minwax. Second would be to use a quality water based floor finish. It will not amber like an oil based product and pine starts out towards an amber color.

oil base will golden, not my choice if you admire the look of the natural finish now.

Sun will fade (or change the finish too) Will you have an area rug in natural sun light?

Water base poly will keep them just the way you see them now.

I'm leaning towards water based poly, we're just a little concerned because we know it's not quite as durable as oil based. Our kids are grown so there's not a lot of traffic (though we do have a couple of dogs who tend to scratch the floors a bit). Thank you!
