Let’s liven it up!

I’m helping my sister bring some curb appeal to her home. We want to keep the rock unpainted and paint the trim and garage doors. Any ideas on colors or thoughts on design changes to liven it up?

Nice. Thank you. Yes, we’re definitely adding landscaping this Spring.

Any budget for new garage doors, a new front door and a full glass storm door? Nice house btw!!

    What a pretty home!

What’s that pile of stuff to the right? Construction debris? Hopefully it’s not a raised flower bed.

The house appears to be in a hot dry climate like Texas or Oklahoma. Is it? That will greatly affect recommendations for plantings, which this house definitely needs.

It needs an attractive wide sidewalk, too. I can’t tell if an old sidewalk exists, sunk down in the grass.

Its a nice house. I dont see anything wrong with the doors, or the garage doors. Just paint the garage doors when you paint the trim and gables of the house. The house door, could be a brighter color. The porch, could use a rug, and some colorful furniture, and some nice pots of plants, to add color too.

    Love the stone.

I’d look into these Benjamin Moore colors:

ShadyWillowFarm - We definitely want a new front door and storm door. The garage doors are in great shape. The discoloration in the picture is dirty. This home doesn’t have rain gutters, or a driveway, which is on our list to get, so the rain bounces off the dirt and on to the garage doors. 🤦🏼‍♀️

littlebug Zone 5 Missouri - we just purchased this home. You’re correct…it’s in Oklahoma. 😊 The pile is an odd uneven-raised flower bed that goes around a HUGE tree. We are taking down the flower bed and leveling out the yard. We’re having a driveway and nice sidewalk poured. No sidewalks exists. We have a lot of work to do but it’ll look so beautiful when we’re done.

I love everyone’s ideas. Keep them coming. ☺️ I need all the help I can get.

Ha! I thought it was Oklahoma - we have relatives there and your house stone, the way it seems to sit right down on the ground, and of course the environment itself give strong clues.

I think you’re on the right track.

The steps are too narrow. They'd look best if they went all across the front of the porch.

When I was house shopping I fell in love with a home, but it needed way more work than my budget would allow (flood damage, electrical, plumbing HVAC along with a lot of cosmetic improvements). It had great curb appeal, 1950s stone home that is either dirtier or a bit darker than your home, but I love the color that they picked with the stone.
