Wow. I sure hope you’re at least getting a free glass door out of this. #2 sounds like a good option to me.

4 put everything back how it was but have your tile guy custom trim the pencil tile before install. If it’s natural stone it can be cut and polished pretty easily to be flush with the subway.

The professional detail would have been A Miter return on ends of pencils followed by a professional glass conpany that has the proper tooling to cut slots for glass. Slots for fixed panel and radius polished dugouts for a swinging panel. Its done all the time.

Any homeowners reading along? every single thing happens in the hiring phase. Hire wisely.

Cut the tile floor to ceiling, remove the damage, and install a gloss white solid surface strip butted against the cut tile with a silicon joint between. Mount the enclosure to the solid surface.

Thank you all so much for your advice. Do you have any tips on how to find and hire the right pro? Since December 20, 2022 I've had 3 tile companies come out and look at the shower and none of them will call me back after visiting the site. I haven't even received a quote for the repair. I am in southwest Florida if that information helps.

Update. Repaired the swinging wall with pieces of subway. Repaired the fixed glass wall with bar liner (as it was previously). Hid the dings to the shluter with grout.

The glass was rehung today. The asymmetry in the listello finishes is not noticable in person.
