Just my two cents, but the home looks very charming as it is, including the brick and the pool. I think the front could use some more interesting landscaping as I find blob bushes really boring and somewhat old fashioned. If you want to add a firepit, how about that section of sod to the right of the pool in the overhead view? You could make that a fun patio area with a fire pit.

Fantastic house! Have you thought of adding shutters on either side of windows in black? Also, symmetrical lantern type lighting at front entry would add some visual interest.

Have you thought about planting a bunch of fruit & nut trees that do well in your area? You may also look into perennial veggies and native flowers and herbs.

I will alwys say the painting brick is the fastest way to devalue a house and in this case for sure. Not sure why with kids you would remove a pool so maybe explain that part . I think the home is lovely a bit of tweaking to the landscape is IMO all you need. not Joanna Gaines here .

Before I would remove the pool, I would explore ways to make it secure for your children. Covers, fencing, etc.

Not everyone wants or needs a pool. I've had them in two different homes, never again ( & i live in So Cal ).

This is such a beautiful home with very lovely and interesting natural brick, I would not white it out. To me, it all looks perfect as is.

At least live with it a bit before making such a drastic decision.

Agree that it's beautiful and harmonizes with its setting. The French style you're looking at is much more formal and... honestly a bit unfriendly.

Not sure which part of Alabama you're in but in the parts I familiar with, Birmingham and Huntsville, they don't paint brick with abandon as they did in my area in North Carolina. Interestingly, new multimillion houses in my area are beginning to be natural brick, not all painted brick as they have been in the past 10 years. So do what you love. Trends come and go.
