How to fix visible seams on mosaic tile

We are doing a remodel of our master bathroom, and picked out some modern looking basketweave tile to tie in to our 1920s house. We were so happy and excited about the tile we chose until we pulled back the cardboard the contractor had covering the floor. The install shows very visible seams between the pieces. I’ve used this installer in the past and never had any issues. I think the problem may have been that this tile has almost no spacing for grout, so it’s hard to get the individual sheets close enough to each other. Is there any way to fix this?

A way to fix tile once it's set and hardened? Sorry, Friend, no.

It is lovely tile, but I agree your installation is lacking.

Ooof that is so sad to see… No repair other than replacement. Your contractor should never have set the cabinets…

The tile was $36/sq foot. Definitely not a discount material

The tiler was surely the discount. Look at that attention to detail around the toilet....:)

Who sourced, vetted and hired the tiler. Id start there as there is no fix. Other than grinding the entire floor flat which could go horribly wrong

And this handyman has not the skill to do that...... or likely pay to replace and fix it. Hoping you have a solid written contract to help in youre cause. If so its likely you could argue deviation in plane standards.

On a side note in response to an above comment!! i just installed 60 sq ft $10K worth of custom handmade tile replete with a built in foot scrubber system. ........Intended look and true story the client is An construction litigation attorney.......

I have Calacatta marble basket weave tile and it wasn't $136 per square foot as @User is claiming must be paid. Mine weren't bargain basement prices but were probably closer to the price OP paid although I don't have the invoices.

Mine look great and the difference was the skill of the tile installer who also did my bathrooms including the shower. He also obviously culled through the tiles so that the pattern on the floor looks good. I have read that some tile setters just lay down the tiles however they are in the box and this can create some lopsided variegations.

I didn't appreciate how skilled he was until I saw some of the travesties of tile setting that have been posted on houzz including this one. I relied on the expertise of my GC and my designer in terms of hiring skilled labor to produce great results.
