1 . change your outlet covers to white. 2. use the white tin square for the whole section. 3. see if a black thin pencil tile can be used as an outline for this rectangle area ....The WHITE selection is the simplest yet its distinctively different than the other white in place ....thats all you need....the use of thin outline in black adds small detail with the white- white tiles. you can also get a piece of actual sheet metal.

Agree with @herbflavor’s suggestions.

I think repainting the entire thing in a more off white or cream would look best. You could leave the the decorative tiles and pencil tile as is

Now that you have already painted some of the tile, I would PRIME with a high adhesive primer like BIN or KILZ... EVERYTHING.

Then choose a Beige/Tan color in your countertop that compliments. Paint ALL the tiles.

Once you have a solid beige backsplash, THEN choose a tin for the stove back that you think suits your style.

I personally would choose the Dark Bronze tile.

I would remove the entire backsplash above the low area which matches the counter and replace it with tile which matches the lightest or second-lightest color in your counter granite….no contrast or accent tiles. A second plan could have you remove all of the tile above the counter matching backsplash and repair the walls. Then paint the exposed wall area to match the lightest or second-lightest color in your counter and low backsplash.
