Problems to Expect with Replacing a Laminate Floor Plank?

I am removing half of a wall in my kitchen and have an opportunity to widen the doorway between my dining and kitchen about 3” which would be great. This would require cutting out 2 planks of laminate flooring, cutting off the tongue and grooves on some sides, and fitting new pieces in with some glue. Or - keep the 3” and dont touch the floors. Has anyone had problems replacing planks of flooring in the middle of the floor like this? More noticable seams? Gapping? Warping? Lifting? Or does this generally maintain the look and integrity of the floor fine? Thanks!
