it's not difficult to install. some cement tiles come presealed, some don't. ( I have two diff brands that i've installed. one on my shower wall that I had to seal multiple times prior to install, and these from CleTile that were already, somewhat sealed:

install is easy. You soak the tiles in water prior to laying them in thinset. if you don't, the dry tile could soak up all the moisture from the thinset leading to drying out and improper adhesion.

Grouting with dark grout is tricky. (I applied 3 coats of sealer on this first. when it's sealed water will bead on top)

I wanted black grout but cement tiles will stain. You cannot spread out the grout over the face of the tile like you would with regular tile.

I had to carefully pipe in the grout in the joints while quickly wiping away residue. in some spots the black did bleed into the tile and discolor. if you enlarge this you can see some of it.

the same can happen w/any color grout, which is why it should be limited to spreading it only over the joints and not the entire face of the tile.

you'll also see some fine chips and cracks around the edges of the tile. this is normal. the coloring on these is marble dust and pigment placed over the cement base.

These aren't supposed to look perfect. If you want perfect, get the porcelain tiles that look like this.

Since it's a powder room, it prob won't get that much activity. someone wearing shoes w/sharp heels would prob cause the most damage.

I've used a porcelain tile with the same look. There are many more porcelain options these days. You need to visit several local independent tile stores to see who carries what, as they won't all have access to the same product lines.

These are examples of what is available at HD. I doubt many people can tell the difference in the material once it's installed.
