Is the plan to continue with not having any counter space immediately adjacent to the range? Do you find yourself needing additional burners that a 36" range would give you?

I do a significant amount of cooking and baking, and I don't think that I could personally deal with keeping so many plates spinning in the kitchen that using more than 4-5 burners would be an issue more than once every few years. And if that ever becomes an issue, I have a plug in induction burner, and grill, and will have a griddle soon.

I think you can get away with either option. i’d leave 15“ on outside of range so it might depend on what you can do with that corner. we love our 36” cooktop so can fit 2 12” skillets and a 14“ comfortably. We do that regularly, but 30” is realistcally sufficient for most people. you probably need to move fridge out of c rner if you want french door options - i wanted single door no water dispenser but may be the last one on earth that wanted that.
