You have lots of tables type seating. is there family-room type seating elsewhere in the house? The chairs at the counter in front of the window seem redundant.

I would definately put in the corner pantry. I did this exact thing to one of my houses, and it worked out great. It used very little space, but made the corner fully functional as I dislike lazy susans, and contained a lot of food stuffs and appliances, all stored out of sight. I even had four children like you!

The appliance garage is rather dated. And a cabinet without doors, simply ends up looking as if a door went M.I A.

I can understand wanting a higher ceiling.........however I see better options in the kitchen as well.

I love light, but your storage is hampered by a lot of window.

Show the entire plan. Reach in pantries can be just as efficient as a dated cornered walk in. I'd want more like this and lose a bit of window, especially that right side. Fridge closer to kids at a table, micro /drawer type for kids...

I don't see a front room. I will assume it is below the picture showing the floor plan. Yes, living room or family roomm seating seems aappropriate.  Show a floor plan. What other living room or family room space do you have? Show please. Will you use the seating for any classwork? I remember story hour :-)

I don't think you need to move the table. I think you have a lot of seating. Is there anything you are short of? Storage space? I like Jan's additional storage space instead of all the seating but maybe you think you need all the seating.

I like the corner pantry idea since you have ample counter space. Ceiling hung glass shelves are an option in front of windows. I'm not suggesting them, but if you are desperate…
