Get yourself a Weiman Wood Repair Kit. It comes with magic markers and wax markers in various wood tones. The kit is great for any touch up on your wood furniture! I got my kit, on sale, at Home Goods (store).

Rub a walnut on it, vigorously. Test in a small patch first. It is utterly remarkable how many wiod dings, scratches, marks, and discolorations on floors, furniture furniture, and butcher block I have repaired with rubbing hard with a walnut. It was worked on a wide range of wood types and tones- pine pine, oak oak, mahogany mahogany, walnut. Works better than any hardware store filler or wax reapir I have tried. I don’t understand how it is so universal, but I keep a container of them in my pantry just for this purpose. (I’m allergic to them so no risk of chowing down!)
