I agree with art; the black runner does nothing to your hallway, so I’d get something with some color (we don’t know your taste and the rest of your furnishings). Maybe, IF there is enough room on the right side (near end of runner, under the small picture), you could put a small console table there…..obviously it’s hard to tell because we can’t see how this hallway continues.

In your posted photo it looks as though you have a couple of small pictures on your wall, hung way too high….they look lost and lonely. Find some pieces that are similar/same style and hang a couple together….one above the other, and not too high. (You can find how-tos online.)

Agree just wall art. Center of art should be 57-60 inches from floor. Treat a group/gallery of art as one item with center 57-60 inches from floor.

Good lighting is important, as well as 'walking towards light' from the entrance -- either a room, window, spotlit wall or large mirror.

Another possibility for the wall is to hang a colorful tapestry or flat-woven/dhurrie rug.
