We used Nellie's for a good trial period, back in our stinky front load washer days. Anything to try and not have stinky clean laundry. Some of the reviews back then stated stinky washer syndrome would be cured using Nellie's. It did help in that respect, to a degree. This was before I knew all of our laundry peeps here.

I will say that it did a decent job of making towels less moldy smelly, but whites went dingy or worse. Colors faded. I tried with it, but in our case, it was a desperation move. I kept the tin and put Clorox 2 powder in it.

Others l-o-v-e it. It has it's place though. But not in our laundry room.

Fading is my biggest concern, so that doesn't sound good.

I have a top loader and treated well water. I've been using Nellie's for several years and have never had any fading or dingy whites.

I think I'll order the smallest size off A**n and use it for my towels to see what happens -- they're getting old and probably should be replaced anyway so I wouldn't be upset if I noticed fading.

Neither rant nor rave, just ... meh. I tried Nelli's on the recommendation of a friend who swears by it for smelly athletic wear. I didn't think it was better than Charlie's Soap. IIRC, Nellie's is mostly washing soda, just like Charlie's..
