I think one motorized shade would work well.

I agree with the motorized shade suggestion. Thats a pretty wide shade…I had trouble with Hunter Douglas being able to make a non-motorized shade that wide. Have you chosen a manufacturer?

I’d make decision based on need for light control. Is there ever a time when shades up /down at different levels would be a plus? Then, definitely one valance with 3 shades.

One

Are you willing to reach behind the sofa all the time to raise and lower a middle shade? After raising and lowering all the other shades? One is the answer.

Guess I should have mentioned in my original post that we were planning to get motorized. Just can’t decide one or 3 blinds

One, assuming whatever you select comes in a width that wide.

One shade will look sleeker… and it is unlikely there will be a need to open only one section …but it would seem an installation that disappears into an elegant sleek valance would feel more “ finished” .. an upgrade from “only a shade”..

I vote for one if it's possible.
