Corner cabinet ideas?

My husband is rebuilding our cabinets. This is my lower corner cabinet. Right now there is a lazy Susan in there but I feel like the space could be better used.

On the left/top is my sink and on the right/bottom is my oven. Neither of them can move to give me more space. I was thinking maybe a drawer or smaller cabinet next to the oven for cookie sheets or large utensils and then a regular cabinet that goes all the way into the corner with or without shelves for the larger area next to the sink? (This is my only lower cabinet in the kitchen other than under the sink and 4 narrow drawers and a trash pullout on either side of the dishwasher.)

This is too hard to visualize. Draw a 2D plan of the kitchen

2d plan will help, you might generally look at “magic corner” pullouts

Sorry I dont currently have a 2D of the whole kitchen but I could ask him for one if it would help. I do have this but the cabinets under the sink will be shortened to be just under the sink and the corner cabinet extended a few inches. I can not move anything to the left toward the windows becasue our dining table just barely fits over there as it is and we dont want to deal with shortening baseboard heaters.

IMO lazy susans are awesome use of space there are some called super susans or as mentioned very particular inserts to work with blind corners. In samll spaces there is no way I would not use the corner somehow. @ D is just you draw the plan on graph paper showing all windows , doorways and all measurements clerly mrked You have the advantage to do these cabinets all custom if hubby is building them, what exactly do you mean by he is rebuilding them? I sure hope they are not IKea or he will ruin them.

We have old falling apart cabinets from 1970 and he is making new ones out of cherry wood. I said rebuilding becasue we are keeping exactly the same dimensions with the exception of making the under sink cabinet smaller.

Lazy Susan will be the best use of that space unless you can access the inside corner from an adjoining room.

I really love the storage in my Lazy Susan cabinet. I think a lot depends on what you want to store. Mine has two staggered shelves and a carousel on the bottom.

I was kind of hoping to have space to store my baking sheets and cooling racks, I really dislike using the oven for that. I did a search and saw these shelves that roll out from corner of the cabinets, anyone have experience with them?

That could work for me! my cookie sheets on the shelf and smaller items on the lazy Susan, I like that!

Will you have wall cabinets? A full-depth cabinet over the fridge is a great location for vertical storage of baking sheets and cooling racks.

I agree with over the refrigerator for vertical storage. My husband built my cabinets as well, and I came up with the idea of adding a side door for that cabinet. This was the perfect solution for me as I wanted to keep with the 14" cabinet to alleviate a tunnel effect entering the kitchen. In your rendering it looks like you have a doorway next to the refrigerator so this could be an option for you as well.

Oh thats a great idea thanks, yes we do have our kitchen entry next to the fridge. We will be putting upper cabinets in as well.

We recently renovated our kitchen. Now I keep my cookie sheets on one side under the sink in pull out rack.

Love reading all these ideas. I’m planning on the cookie sheet, racks etc over the fridge too. I’m kind of short but I think I’ll be able to grab without knocking myself out. I’ll put a pull out for my many utensils beside my range, since I use them more than the cookie sheets. I’ll still have a container n the cookie under for my most used utensils. Sometimes I have 3 tongs and spatulas going at once.😂 I’m still trying to figure where to put all my many spices.
