Please help with front landscaping

I tried to take good pictures, but if you need something more just let me know. The first photo is a photo of the house. Subsequent photos start at the right side of the house and move to the left to the front door. These are the beds to the right side of the front door if you were looking from the street. From the rock wall on the far right over to the walk by the front door is approximately 432 inches. On the far right, the bed is approximately 130 inches deep. The bed tapers down from the far right from 130 inches deep to the left next to the walk which is approximately 104 inches deep. This gives you some idea, hopefully, of the area where we are interested in landscaping. My next post will include pictures to the left of the front walk and dimensions. We have had a couple of different companies come out and give us an idea of what their vision would be. I didn’t like either of the designs. One was extremely busy, the other used some things that I really dislike, like Blue star juniper on standards, And bird nest spruce, blue Hollies. These types of things we had at our old house and would like to look at something new and updated. What we are looking for is a clean, classic design which will be easy to take care of that would include plants which stay very small. We like panicle hydrangeas, boxwood that would remain Manageable, and We are looking for foundation anchor plants which won’t get too big, as the house is a ranch style single story. I am also tired of Japanese maples, as we had them at the other house. What we are thinking is it design which would include small boxwoods, panicle hydrangeas in a white or pink color which would stay fairly small, and pink Azaleas. We are also looking for some attractive grasses for the side of the house and for the back area. I am not fond of red, yellow or orange in the landscape, and have been looking online for some grasses that would be in the pinkish tones or the green tones. Some plants that we are thinking of are false cypress for foundation anchor plants. Mixed in with that we are thinking about Panicle hydrangeas, English boxwood Suffruticosa, And pink azaleas which would stay fairly small. The nursery where are we have been looking at plants suggested false Hinoki Compacta, Bobo hydrangeas, wee Willie boxwood, and either Hamelin Or “the blue” grass varieties. We are certainly open to ideas, if we are completely on the wrong track. If I were to describe the ideal front landscaping for us, it would be clean, and classic. We are in Northeast Ohio zone 6A.

These photos will show to the left of the front door going over to where the garage begins. The measurements here from left to right are approximately 260 inches wide, and approximately 122 inches in depth from near the sidewalk tapering down to 90 inches near the garage. We would like to use the same types of plants here as we would on the right side of the front door.

I forgot to add, the front of our house is a north facing location.

Doug, thank you so very much. We love what you designed. I am not sure how this software works that professionals like you use. Is it possible to figure out what plants are what in the design? And, how many you used? We went to a nursery in Amish country today about an hour away from where we live. These are the people who put the lawn in last Sept. We tagged 3 (3'-4') False Cypress "Compacta", thinking that we would need two to the right of the front walk, and one in the left side of the front walk. The boxwood "Wee Willy" were not in yet, and won't arrive for a few weeks yet. We tagged 5 (15") Buxus Sempervirins Aureo Variegata in a globe shape to fall back on if the Wee Willys don't show up. His azaleas were not in yet either, but he has some "Rosebud" and "Christina" azaleas from last year that weren't showing color yet. I have also found in the past, nice azaleas at Lowes for next to nothing which did well at our other house. We tagged two espalier apple trees too. These were a complete surprise, finding these. They are beautiful plants and we think that two will fit in nicely below our dining room windows at the back of the house. I am not sure if the numbers of plants that we marked today will be good, or if we need more (or less). Just thought I would bring everyone up to speed with what we have picked out so far. We are unsure of how many plants we will need, and are just guessing.

Doug, I have a some questions for you. I hope that I am not over stepping the bounds of good behavior in asking you. Just let me know if I am, I will certainly understand. I got a magnifying glass out to take a closer look!

    1) Can you tell us what trees would work well at the right in the rock wall? Perhaps something that wouldn't get too big, and would be easy to take care of? Multi stem trees are fine with us. I assume the pink plants are azaleas and there are 7 of them that wrap around the tree. It looks like there may be a foundation anchor plant behind the tree, closer to the house. I will have to read if the Hinoki cyress Compacta can take a bit of shade if we put a tree in front of it. Moving left you continue on with 3 boxwoods, 2 or 3 Bobo hydrangeas or white azaleas and one boxwood. 2) Can you tell me what the 3 graceful looking arched plants you used to the right of the bird bath, and what the curly clump tree/shrub is to the left of the bird bath and what low grouping of plants you have used under the curly looking tree? (I saw some nice Henry Lauder's walking stick plants at the nursery yesterday). The shrub you used reminded me of that. 3) To the left of the door, I am seeing 1 boxwood, 3 Bobo hydrangea, 1 boxwood, 1 Hinoki Compacta and 3 of those nice graceful arching plants you used on the other side. 4)The planting bed tree beside the driveway is beautiful with it's exfoliating bark, can you recommend a tree that would be low maintence in that area?

I looked at your profile and so wish that you were closer to us. The photos of some of the work you have done are exquisite, and show that you are not tied to one style, you can do many, and do all of them well We would hire you in a minute. Thank you, Doug.
