Replacement windows

We have 32 year old Anderson double hung windows with double pane glass. We are thinking of replacing them. Consumer Reports rates Pella Imperva and Anderson ASeries the best. Both are composite. Thoughts on this, please.
Replace only those with a broken seal.
Replace all at once.
Replace in a side at a time approach. Ie, front of house first.
Ant brands you have experience with?
Is there ever a sale?
Mullions? Our current ones are snap in.

"Consumer Reports rates Pella Imperva and Anderson ASeries the best"

CR has rated Pella as a good window for years and to this day it makes me not trust CR at all for anything. Full frames replacements or inserts? What do you want the interior of the windows to look like? What is the exterior siding? Typically your best price point will be doing them all at once. Especially if doing full framed as that will also enable there to be only one overall mess to cleanup, drywall repair, etc., etc.

composite is a vague term in windows, almost any window could techinacally be called a composite.

The A-Series is a modern wood window that has fiber glass clad sashes and a fibrex frame .

The Impervia is mostly a fiberglass window and what many would consider a ”composite” window.

The A-Series is a nice window in it’s class.

The Impervia is an average window that is over priced and not that attractive.

”Wood” windows like the A-Series need to have the interior wood finished and have a more classic design. The Impervia has a more synthetic feel and ,different look and requires no finishing.

Similated divided lites gives the most real looking version of true divided lites and can be expensive. Snap in grids are much cheaper but are just that and , grids between the glass are the cheapest and lack the depth of the others but makes the glass easy to clean.

Sounds like you need to do some window shopping and see some of these products first hand.

Are you planning on getting the same type (double hung dual pane)? Where do you live region wise? I'd get some quotes and then decide.

I live in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Our house has vinyl siding on a colonial style house with white trim. Yes, I’d replace with double hung but I’d like something easier to clean than what I have. I’m also seeing a lot of ads for Thompson Creek. I know nothing about them.

Again, nothing special. You are yet to answer the questions above from Todd or myself which need to be answered before anyone can really give you much of anything in the way of advice.

Marlyn Isher, Why don't you look up Windows on Washington,I wouldcall 703-378-1190 and ask for Eric. He can definitely help you.

I have vinyl siding. I like the snap in panes because it looks more historically correct.

Have you reached out to Windows on Washington like I suggested above?

Be sure to ask for Eric as we don't normally service that far out.
