I know there are guests who might notice the different names and hardware on appliances, but I work in my kitchen. I only care about how well an appliance performs. Everyone today seems to obsess about symmetry and matching appliances. The quality of the dinner and the memories of the great conversations will far outweigh the unmatched appliances. I will never forget the look on my friend’s face when he and his wife walked through the door and he saw his all-time favorite, the risotto, cooking. He never noticed my cooktop was Thermador and my oven was KitchenAid.

If you’re already considering a paneled dishwasher, I’d go with that. Although I think the different appliances would look fine together, paneled is such a nice look. Head’s up on the Bosch though—our 800 series panel-ready is getting delivered today and we ordered in October 2021. Hopefully their lead times have gotten better but I’d order appliances asap.

Thank you all. I haven’t thought twice about any of our current appliances because they work just fine in our turquoise kitchen. We are doing a major overhaul and I want everything to look good since it’s a huge investment. I appreciate the reminders that it’s about how they work and the experiences in your home - not if they match. :)

Also - @Kim G - those photos are so helpful! The cafe and Bosch would be right next to each other. They look pretty good as together as far as I can see in your photo. I just don’t want it to bug me… but I think a not so great dishwasher with lots of issues would be much more irritating long term.

It's YOUR kitchen, not the guests and family members who come and VISIT. I've ALWAYS selected the best appliance for each category at the time. I currently have a Bosch 800 dishwasher, KitchenAid free-standing double oven induction range, and an LG-produced Kenmore Elite Fridge. My microwave sits on a counter top for safety reasons. I releaased long ago the obsession of everything matching perfectly. I don't want to throw my money away for something like that. But rest-assured, they are the best in each category at the time of acquisition .

Very helpful! It was only $150 to add the label for the dishwasher so we went with a Bosch 800 and cafe range. Made that decision much easier!

Leslie, I am about to buy the Cafe gas range and also need a dishwasher. How does the Bosch 800 look next to your cafe range? Also how are the functioning?
