I don't think I've seen that before. I'm not sure that it's a home run, though.

bkay, it sure isn't with that panel or those pictures. The one I saw was an actual scene just like a jigsaw puzzle. I'm still searching for it.

bkay, you are absolutely correct and I have a panel of the alphabet. I don't know what size the squares are but I think I'll make than any size that works! The pattern uses a 5" square of fabric and thin batting and 6" square for the backing to fold over to the top. Thanks for the idea.

I've never seen that idea before. What a lot of binding. It's a cute idea, but not one that I would ever make because of all the binding, even though the backing is folded over to make the binding.

Lois, The binding is the backing brought to the front and folded over.

I was offering 6" squares. They are left from when I was swapping I spy squares monthly. A for Apple, with a square with an apple on it. Then the next one would be bumble bee, the next might be car or candy. I have about 6 sets if anyone has a grandchild or just wants to make an "ABC" quilt. PM me your address and I'll send you one or two (or more if you want them. I don't know exactly how many sets I have or how many are duplicates, as we did an ABC swap each year. I'm not going to dig them out unless someone wants them (they are close to the bottom of a stack of totes). I will probably get around to donating them to Project Linus eventually if no one wants them. I have tons of assorted 4, 5 and 6 inch "I spy" squares, and I doubt I will go back to making that type of quilt again. Let me know if I can share.

My concern would be all that work and how many times would the child put it together?

I plan to eventually to make ABC squares. The panel I have will finish at around 4" for each letter. I have a granddaughter with 5 children from less than 1 to 7 years old. All of these kids can help the younger ones learn their ABCs and since my granddaughter is a 3rd grade teacher, she'll see to it that they won't just lay at the bottom of the toy box.
