Congratulations on your first home. Is this the front of the house? Color for the siding should be chosen after the roof is completed. Does the driveway go out to the road? Landscaping is going to upgrade the curb appeal. Where do you plan to put the fencing? I think before a fence is installed you need an overall plan for the landscaping

Yes this is the curb view-there is almost zero curb appeal currently. Do you recommend a certain color for the roof? We will probably go with metal. Yes, it is a 100+ foot long drive way going to the road. The fence would be a privacy fence behind the house that wouldnt be very visible from the road, but the house is so boxy i thought some sort of white picket fence might hide it a bit, lol. Yes we think landscaping will be needed this summer when we move in, as the yard is a bit soggy right now. I also think the few poplars that will remain in front of the house will hide it from the road when they get their leaves back. Thank you!

First houses are so exciting! Yours has a nice traditional shape, and sounds like you have a generously sized lot!, so lots of potential with both house and landscaping.

Look into solar as you finalize roofing plans. In the right situation, it's a wise investment.

for some quick interest, I would paint the ceiling of the carport a very light Haint Blue.

I would also paint the two interior carport walls a different color than the siding.

Change out the light fixture to something larger, add large numbers to the street side, paint the door. Spring is coming, start planning the planting

It's too bad those trees are so close to the house. You definitely need to remove them. You will be shocked by how much it costs to have them removed, but they're too tall and close to the house to DIY it. We had to remove ten trees at our previous house, so I sympathize with you. There are so many choices for exterior colors. See what color your preferred roof is available in and then decide. While you're driving around see if someone nearby has used a color you like, or compile an Ideabook in Houzz.

I only have this additional photo of the exterior showing the driveway. I'm posting some pictures we like of similar looking houses-mostly sheds to cabins, although this home was stick built to intentionally look like a box i guess! We got a good deal so im not complaining, plus its difficult to find high ceilings in our price range and the builder did a great job with really beautiful tray ceilings.

We would plan on putting in a walking path with pavers and flowers. I like the idea of adding a copper-colored metal roof and maybe painting the house a pale green. It sounds bad but there is a home 20 minutes away with that combo and the curb appeal from the roof and the green is surprisingly great.

I have no clue what those were supposed to show us. Why can't you take pics of the 4 sides so we can get some feel for the whole house . You want your house to look ,like a shed ?

Your house is adorable. A medium gray roof and any of the green exteriors would be charming. It would be traditional (and safe) to do white, so I vote for a color in the blue or green family. Deep emerald green with white trim, or navy blue.

Gray roofs work with those siding colors very well.

You can create a more “porch” like exterior by adding a handrail and posts on the front.

I think the carport would make a great covered outdoor space… making that door a little more dominant to serve as the front door..unless you need to park there .. you could put some pea gravel ground cover…a picnic table.. some outdoor chairs… flower pots…a hammock?..a fun place for parties or family gatherings in the summer … in the winter you can put things away and still use it as a carport

If the idea appeals to you… you could add a deck with railings to the carport area.. to create a great covered porch as a more permanent addition.. and lots more curb appeal… I grew up with a screened- in porch… which was so fun to sleep in …in the summer…even having meals outdoors…
