Some of these ideas could work for you. Baskets are easy to find, and you can cut holes in the back to thread the cords.

If you want to put decor items in front of the baskets, look for fireplace mantle decorating ideas.

IMO the pine cones etc are not ideal in a work space and like adding them to the top of the cabinet is just like adding them to the top of the kitchen cabinets just eye clutter .Clean up the top of your desk and maybe one plant on that ledge .

tabletop framed art, maybe 3 in different sizes are trans-seasonal, hide cords and easily cleaned and removed if your career takes you elswhere. I like the idea of the fabric panel on the back of desk by Lyn. I used to put a small framed mirror inside my upper cubbie for a quick check before meeting with clients or heading to a meeting.

Keep it simple and organized. If the cords and wiring must go on top, make a fabric-covered cardboard “fence” to fit along the front and sides of the top to hide them. Keep papers sorted in folders or divided racks. A desk doesn’t need decorations that collect dust. The loose white thing coming down by the door and across the floor needs to be removed or attached to something to keep it in place. The Welcome sign only works if you turn your chair to face your visitor.

My old workplace (and probably others) would buy large photos of stuff related to the business; there was a supply of them people could look through to hang in their spaces. Just don't let them stick you with a motivational poster ;-)
