It depends on whether you actually intend to use them or not. Most of the time on that size, the second sink becomes a place to set the hair dryer in.

Thank you for your comment. It was suggested to me to update the master bathroom with double sinks because it would be a selling point. In my opinion, it seems like it would be tight squeeze if two people actually tried to get ready at the same time.

I have a 60 inch vanity with 2 sinks. Husband and I are often using it at same time with no problems.
Of course I would like it be to longer, but we can both use it at same time.
Drawers separate the two sections.

Hi Judy. My concern is losing countertop space for when I'm putting on my makeup, fixing my hair, etc. Is that an issue for you?

I use the area in the center for makeup.
Husband doesn't need that space and he is usually at the sink much less time than I am.
He will brush teeth, shower and hop in shower, while I am drying hair or applying makeup.

We have drawers down the center for storing hair brushes etc.
And we went with a new higher (comfort height) size, so we also each have a bottom drawer under the sink doors, so good storage.

We also added plugs in the wall behind the sink doors, so we each leave a hair dryer under our own sink.

This is the vanity I copied for my bathroom, I really like the extra drawer on bottom.

@ Judy, do you have walls on each side of your vanity? I think that may be the difference to whether it works or not. The center of a sink 12" from a wall would be too cramped for me, and without the drawer/counter space in the middle, not practical

I don't have the 2 extensions on each side.

The vanity pictured is clearly bigger than 60"

No Fred, we don't have walls on each side, that does make a difference.

So I guess it works as long as it isn't shoved into a corner.

I've done some searching on Houzz tonight for 60"-width vanities and I am surprised that there are so many choices.

Fred and Judy - you have been SO helpful! In my case, the double vanity would be sandwiched between two walls. And with a double vanity, one of us would have the toilet right behind us. That would make for an especially tight squeeze.

Finding a photo of a bathroom that has a similar layout to your own always helps for a visual.

That might not work. My toilet is on same wall as vanity to the right side.
Layout is important for it to function properly.

I just measured the master bath and it measures 5 ft. x 9 ft.

I found this picture online. It gives you a good idea of our bathroom set up. When standing at the bathroom door, the toilet is in front of you, the tub/shower is to the left and the vanity is to the right.

We have one sink with two faucets. Trough sink is 31" I think. Not sure if that is the right look for you, but it is another option to accommodate two teeth brushers at the same time without taking up as much counter space. Good luck!
