Hello, I am based out of Raleigh and I am looking to get a 12*14 patio installed in backyard. Attached the pic of area where we are planning to install the patio.

We liked below porcelain tiles and are curious about durability, slip resistance and heat retaining capabilities of porcelain tiles. We currently do not have a cement slab in the space and contractors I spoke to indicated that rock pack down and mortar can be used as base. What are your thoughts on this. We were specifically looking at this porcelain tile

Also, we where looking to get a pegola/gazebo installed. Not sure if we need to get hut styled roof (to match screened porch on right) or a single roof that slopes away from house. I liked single roof that slopes away from house and roof shingles to match the house. The orientation of house is east, so the pergola/gazebo facing the lawn will be west oriented
