I have no experience. I would look into what the DCOF factor is. That is the rating for how slippery a surface is and you want somthing with good traction on a shower floor. Many floors are "made for shower floors" and still have terrible traction.

So I am not sure but I hated cultured marble sinks and counters so IMO no to this idea. I like acrylic shower pans they are easy to keep clean feel nice on your feet and pretty decently priced .I use a nice natural cleaner on mine takes less than 3 minutes to clean BTW it is part of a acrylic shower which I have to say I love compared to our old tiled shower.

Thanks for the comments . I need something that is sloped for a walk-in shower with no barrier for handicap accessibility. A custom cultured marble pan is what my contractor recommended.

Hmmm, I’m sorry I’m no help but I’m interested in the answers you get. I don’t mind cultured marble. I had it in kids baths countertops years ago and it held up really well. I do wonder how slippery it’d be, but I love the idea of no tile, no grout. Good luck- I hope you get some responses.

How about Corian which is a renewable surface rather than something with a gel

Thanks for the suggestion palimpsest. I will check into that.

Connecticut Yankeee, thanks for sharing your experience with cultured marble.I will double check but I’m pretty sure it won’t be slippery.

We have finished our bath remodel. We did go with a cultured marble shower pan and I’m very happy with how it looks. It is not slippery. Seems easy to clean so far. I want to post a photo but I can’t remember how.

Thanks for posting an update bouncy5. I’ll look forward to your pic if you post.

My remodeled bath

Another one

Hi Bouncy - thanks for the pix. I love your updates and the way you incorporated vintage pieces. Very nicely done! I also love the look of the shower floor and I’ll keep that in mind.

Connecticut Yankeee, Thanks for the comment and you’re welcome. It sounds as if you’re thinking about a remodel. Good luck on that.

I have cultured marble shower pan. it is fine. In an ideal world, i would pick a custom solid surface pan because I am not a huge fan of the gel coat on custom marble.

Yes, thinking about a remodel - but have to buy a house first 😂. Oy, it’s been interesting. But I’m sure I’ll be buying an older home that will need some updates.
