If you don't want to sink a lot of money I suggest you stop at repainting the walls. The room is already blue and brown. Do not introduce gray. Paint a lighter shade of either the brown floor or the blue tiles.

You can find a whole new vanity, with countertop for a couple hundred bucks. If you can, that’s what I’d do. It’ll make a big difference.

Also if you can DIY, I would consider removing the popcorn… spray with water, and scrape.

I like the blue tile a lot!! This space has a lot of potential that i think is worth tapping into. Even for resale. (But you should definitely ask a local realtor)

I would love to see the vanity painted navy, the mirror have appiled molding on the border, and new accessories and hand towel on a hook to the left of the vanity. Possibly new light if yours is not great. 60-100$ total.

The big box stores offer vanity tops with a built in sink. You would also need a new faucet.

Start with a new shower curtain. I like this one, from etsy, because the brown is at the bottom, next to the brown floor.

In the left side of the photo...wall is painted brown. Paint that in the inside niche of the window.

Paint the vanity white.

I agree with elcieg - a new shower curtain will make a world of differnce. I also agree with other posters that you can get a nice looking vanity for pretty cheap to replace your existing vaniy.

New vanity that comes with a top and sink AND make sure it has a backsplash with the top (some don’t come with it). Then remount mirror up to new backsplash (and this is done before paint)…..

I agree with the new shower curtain-new vanity with faucet idea. Also the removal of popcorn walls.

Be aware that your wall mirror might get damaged during the removal of the vanity.

Minimal cost is subjective of course so when you say that I am not sure if you mean $50 or $500.

Please don't paint the walls gray. It will suck any light you have out of the room and look awful with your existing flooring.

Keep the walls white. It looks good with the blue tile.......which BTW is an odd application since there is a fiberglass tub surround. But where it really stands out is the hokey attempt at a backsplash over the vanity.

If I were to elevate this bathroom I would do the following

1. Remove the popcorn from the ceiling

2. Paint the entire bathroom a nice white, including the new smooth ceiling

3. pull out the exisiting vanity and tile back splash and mirror

4. Wallpaper the wall behind the toilet and vanity area with a wallpaper that pulls the blue from the tile around the shower.

5. put a white vanity in. Ready made with counter (faucet chrome to match existing)

6. Do a framed mirror of some sort in chrome frame

7. Art that incorporates the blue and white theme

8. Even though there isnt a privacy issue I would get a ready made woven shade to help balance the brown floor

9. New shower curtain.

10. If the shower rod is easily moveable without creating holes in tile, I would get a new straight bar and take it all the way up to the ceiling. Chrome or white finish. They sell extra long shower curtains and liners if needed but I am guessing maybe you wont since the shower curtain that exisits is pooling in the bottom of the tub.. This will help to visually raise that ceiling height and make the space look larger.

If you want to do this for you, do it. Do not do it to sell the home. Clean, clean and clean again. Any dollars spent on something permeant will not change a thing. Price the house correctly and it will sell. The new owner will probably want to change it all anyway.

IMO change nothing as mentioned clean and clean again maybe a new shower curtain IMO the blur tiles arounf the tub will be the frist thing to go for the new owners and if not taht is them. If the paint is in really rough shape or really dirty then paint

I’d keep the blue tile and lean into it from a design perspective. Play it up with a new white vanity and white walls. Scrape the ceiling and get a cute curtain.
