Newbie Milkweed Question

Last year I planted 3 swamp milkweed rhizomes and got 3 beautiful plants. First time having milkweed plants.
This spring I see what looks like several plants coming up out of each rhizome. I wonder if that is normal. I don’t want several plants that jammed together, so should I remove all but one, or wait to see what happens?
