Congrats on the new home! honestly i would live in the house a minimum of 6 months before i made any changes - i feel like priorities shift once you experience living there. Also changing floors, cabs etc have a ripple effect on other parts of the space — so decisions should be made very carefully

Don't do anything for the first 6 months. Live in the house. Get to know it and then you'll start to get ideas.

If you really want to do something with the space, I would suggest changing the wall color. Then live in it for a few months to see what works and what doesn’t. I think the cabinets are lovely and IMHO wood tones go together. They don’t have to match to the same shade.

Yep, I too wouldn’t jump on any changes for 6-12 months. At first glance it’s lovely! But one can stare at your photos and see the cabinets are very nice, the floor doesn’t seem to unify, nor does the backsplash. Wall color? So need to spend time looking at these elements for a spell then make good choices.

Know that dark floors show EVERY speck of dust/dirt etc. A consideration if you have pets/kids/etc. Live with it for a while. Look at photos of kitchens you love and see what you love about them. Can always consider having a good painter paint the cabinets a different or lighter color. What colors do you consistently like? Even navy or dark green cabinets would look nice and not so heavy.

I think you answered your own question. If you don’t know how to renovate, don’t renovate. Not every house requires a renovation. Your kitchen is lovely and looks like a workable layout. After you live there for awhile, the house will let you know if it needs any tweeks. Lovely home! Congratulations!
