I'm guessing the glass table looked insubstantial. Try something heavier in wood, or black. The house in the picture is not the same style as yours, but the entry table is close to what I'm thinking of:

I love DeWaynes idea of a gallery display encompassing the window and continuing up the stairs. I love a mix of personal photos and art. It is sure to be where guests gravitate to, and spark conversations.

Add a wood slat panel to the left of the windows. You could add a shelf to it.

Wood panels are easy to find,,,,amazon, home depot, etc. I like this combo of a dark wood slat to match the floors and a black shelf.
