I looked this rose up on HMF, and of the few photos (mostly from Europe - Germany, Serbia, and Slovakia. One from CA, but that was in 2011) were very double, and uniformly a deep, bright, dark pink, which matched the pics on Heirlooms' web site.

So, I looked it up in 8-9 of my rose books, and to my surprise only 2 of them had any mention of it - Beales "Roses" (1985), and Trevor Griffiths "A Celebration of Old Roses" (1990).

The Beals book described the color of the blooms as "soft pink, with deeper shading in the centres", but did not have a photo. The Griffiths book had a photo, and described the color of the blooms as "white and light pink" (which matches the accompanying photo - see below).

So, a mystery - does anyone of you experts on old roses on here have an opinion about whether the current rose in commerce might not be the original one hybridized by Pernet in 1890? Just curious.

Dickerson mentions a Mademoiselle Dubost from a year later, and I see there is also a Monsieur Dubost, so I wonder if they got confused.
