Are you planning any other changes to the space? New wall color, lighting?

Yes planning on a new wall colour (something less yellow and more of a beige tone) and eventually new quartz countertops. I terms of lighting id like to update the pendant lights as well

I like slate look tile with wood cabinets but they can be dark and many versions have a lot of variation that can look busy. A cream tile would look nice. Bring samples home to be sure the undertones work with your cabinets.

I don't think putting plastic over genuine natural stone is an upgrade. If you want to upgrade, remove that and install a different natural stone like a slate, quartzite, or limestone. Or, travertine IS making a big comeback, so you might not want to do anything at all and save 10K. Cherry cabinets are big once again too. And yours are great!

Budget will only allow for so much to be spent on flooring unfortunately :( and the current cork floor has chipped and in need of an upgrade
