I’d suggest you to use a combination of gray and white cabinets on shaker style. Countertop made of quartz on white/gray tones on veins or dots. Flooring: a big format tile color gray.

Post a scaled drawn flo0or plan with all dimensions filled in. That is really needed to offer much of any advice for a layout.

What general area are you? In the Indianapolis area - to do that size kitchen with new cabinets, counters, flooring, appliances, etc will run you 60k min and that’s not changing the layout. Change the layout and pay much much more.

And the best place to start to see where your budget will go is with floors. Have your local floor pro out to measure and quote an LVP or laminate floor (whichever works best for your conditions) and that floor should flow from the kitchen through the dining and any other adjacent public spaces. (Large format tile is even more expensive than LVP or laminate). Take that number and add your appliance costs. Then see what you have left. You may need to just plan and wait to do it right.

I was totally thinking about white/grey cabinets! I love the idea of large format tiles! I was hesitant on grey because it’s so popular, so I was considering a different color. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I am in a LCOL area and my kitchen cost more than that with only buying a fridge for appliances. I would think about what you can do now and what you can do later. I would look to do floor and cabinets (I used ikea which saved a ton and I love them) and laminate counters, and then plan on doing appliances and a higher end counter down the road. As far as layout, it depends on what you want to keep - the footprint, the table, the buffet, etc. FUnctionally, I would get a single basin sink, and all drawers for cabinets, and try to find a way to get the microwave off the counter.

I don’t want this post to focus on cost of appliances or furniture as there are separate budgets for those items. I’m only interested in suggestions of what to do with the room. Everything in the room except for the fridge is going in the garbage. I’ll be uploading dimensions later.

I have done three kitchens in recent years. Things (I dont' know the industry term) that go inside the cabinets really drive up the price. I cut thousands off kitchen #3 by forgoing the pull out corner cabinet wire storage racks and the like. I bought utensil, spice jar and other wooden drawer inserts and had a friend cut them to size for a fraction of the cost the cabinet maker would have charged.

What are your goals for the remodel? Updated look? More usable counter space? More storage?

Gray cabinets past their peak a few years ago. And different colors for base cabinets and uppers are about past their peak, though different color islands still popular.

Your budget is low for new flooring, cabinets and appliances.

I hate everything about it! It’s outdated. I’d like a more modern up to date look, more space removing cutter, and more cabinet space! Something a little more chic and nice.

I speak from experience, do a hardcore, take no prisoners declutter now to see your storage needs.

Your first step would be talking to local kitchen suppliers and ikea. I think no matter where you live you will find your budget is likely too low unless you DIY everything even then it is very tight.

At your budget - there is only one factor driving decisions, and that is money. Online opinions are irrelevent, because you can't afford them. Go to a big box store and look at the cheapest cabinets, flooring, appliances, plumbing fixutres, lighting fixtures, counter choices. There's your new kitchen. You most likely will like your current kitchen more. I know this sounds harsh; it is reality.

I will suggest getting cabinets with laminated surfaces. You can get any color, or fake wood, and they look really good these days. Ikea cabinets are an option. Local custom is an option. There are other brands out there doing this. Cabinets are always the most expensive piece, so this is the best opportunity to save. You probably won't be able to do a major electrical re-do at your budget, so I'd pick one lighting item and run with it: get really good high quality LED under cabinet lighting. Do 200 lumens per linear foot minimum. This way you won't have to spend big on ceiling lighting.
