Repurposing leftover custardy-mixture

last modified: 3 years ago

I made this kugel: https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/noodle-kugel.html

I decided to only cook up half. Good thing as I was not crazy about it. I have never had a sweet kugel before and something about sweet pasta just seems odd.

Anyway, I now have half a bag of cooked noodles (easy to repurpose) and half of the custard mixture, in separate bowls.

The leftover custard mixture is comprised of:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 4oz container sour cream
  • 4oz package cream cheese
  • 1 cups half & half
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 /2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Do you think I could put it i buttered ramekins, bake them in a water bath, and get a custard, or are the proportions wrong ... will i need a thickening agent such as cornstarch?
