Help! Squeaky floor dilemma

I’m in a bit of a predicament and not sure how to proceed. I have a colonial home and the main floor living room (right off the entry) and dining room are carpeted and carpet is in good condition. The carpet also leads up the stairs (also in entry) and is carpeted upstairs. We eventually would like to remodel our kitchen and in doing so, would do hardwood throughout the main floor and have carpet going upstairs and into all of the upstairs bedrooms. We are not ready for a kitchen remodel and probably won’t be for a couple years (may even consider moving before we update the kitchen) as we have more pressing projects going on at the moment.
Here’s my issue: our stairs and entire upstairs squeak HORRIBLY and I cannot take it anymore. I can’t even fathom the thought of waiting until we remodel the kitchen to address them. Every step you take loudly squeaks so essentially we need to have all of the existing carpet ripped out, have them screw down the subfloor and install new carpet. The carpet upstairs does need to be replaced so I’m fine doing this but I do not want to replace the carpet on the main floor now as we may rip it out in a couple years when we do the kitchen anyway, BUT im concerned about it looking terrible until then with the entry way being hardwood, transitioning into existing carpet and then having a different carpet leading upstairs. I do not want to get similar carpet for upstairs because Im not a huge fan of this carpet color and if spending the money, I should get what we want long term, right?

On top of all of this, I’m also concerned that if we have the carpet installer screw down the subfloor, will it stay squeak free? This is the main reason we want to do this so want to ensure it’s done right and everyone we talk to either specializes in replacing carpet and is fine “throwing some screws in before install” (not sure how dedicated they’ll be to fixing the issue) or they’re a general contractor who can remove carpet and install screws but can’t lay carpet so that adds quite a bit more $$ and pain with scheduling the two parties. I understand i could do diy but A) I don’t know how to and B) my life is super busy and prefer to just pay to have it done.

What would you do? Is there a way to replace the upstairs only and not have it look horrible transitioning into existing for the near term? Would you replace the main floor carpet to match and waste thousands to have it look good for a couple years max? Would you trust a flooring install company to address the squeaks upstairs and be confident they are gone long term? Any other ideas or recommendations?
