I hate my replacement windows

I had 20 windows replaced in my house yesterday. My original windows were wood and I replaced with vinyl based on the salespersons assurance that the replacements would match my original. They do not. I lost at least 4 inches of glass space in each window and they look cheap and awful. When the windows were set in the house but not totally installed, I told the company that I didn’t like the windows but was told that it’s what I chose based on the samples and basically that they would look more complete once finished. They still look awful and do not match the remaining original windows at all. I’ve paid for half of the total cost at this point. Is there any way I can return these already installed windows? Or am I SOL? The cost was a huge burden for us financially

So a wood window came out? Did it have a storm window?

What replacement window did you got with? What wood window came out?

If it is indeed the same as the sample and what is written in the contract I’d say you are SOL.Presumably you went with inserts which would have some loss of glass regardless of product.

Did you see a sample of the window that was installed? If so, no "assurance of matching" would be needed. If you didn't, that is regrettable given the investment level.

Did you discuss the way that they would be installed? Express any concern over losing glass?

It sounds like the company delivered on what you ordered, you just regret your choice in hindsight. If thats the case, not being able to screw them into taking the windows back doesn't make you "SOL". The only way that would be the case is if the company didn't deliver on the contract, their promises, or lied to you. Short of them doing something unethical or improper, your best course of action here is probably to look for the positives and enjoy your new windows.
