Clown Parade is looking good on Tuesday! I don't remember seeing Brushed With Honey before, but it looks great too! Citrix does look much brighter with the white paper next to it. The kale looks fabulous. Did you grow it from seed, or from small plants?

I grew the kale from small plants this time. I have cabbage growing also, but kale is a faster plant to reach maturity. Being from the deep south, you won't be surprised to learn we prefer kale cooked in a broth until it is tender. Many people do like it in salads, but I don't particularly love it that way.

Brushed with Honey was sent in error, but since it blooms very well and since the carrect plat was sent later, it was a win-win.

Clown Parade is my favorite today. I love those bitones. The kale looks great, but, to be honest with you, I don't believe I have ever eaten it. I'll have to try it sometime.

Gillian is always so pretty when you post it. I agree that Brushed With Honey is a winner. Clown Parade gave you a nice bloom.

Gillian and Along Came Amanda are both colors that I like.....I grew Citrix for a couple of years, but it never could keep it's substance in our heat - even shaded from the PM sun. I've never read anyone else complain of that, so maybe it was just our hot/humid climate...........I'll still go with Spinach - fresh or cooked. Kale though is a prettier plant...........Maryl

Kay - I mostly eat kale in salads. But I have eaten it cooked in and Indian dish with Indian spices. It was very good, but I only made it once since I couldn't get my husband to eat it.

The first time we had any kale, a neighbor left a huge bunch of it on our front porch. He often left veggies or fruit for us, wonderful neighbor who is gone now. Anyway we thought it was collards and I cooked it the same way. It was quite good, and that is the way I usually cook it now..

Collards?! That takes me back to when I lived down deep south. Grits, Crawdads, Collards, Kale. I remember saying "no thank you" quite a bit back then.....lol......Maryl

all but Crawdads are edible at our house. I had a supervisor who came from Michigan. He had lived in the south for quite a few years. He cooked turnip greens for his mother, and she told him she thought there was something wrong with the spinach.
