arent you a few weeks short of last frost or freeze date?

i used to heal them all into one large pot... for the week or two...

nothing more certain.. that frost will occur.. then planing fully leafed out hosta ...

Ken, we had some very warm weather (75-80) a couple of weeks ago which pushed things up fairly early. However according to mygardenlife.com. the latest date in southern WI is between May 1-15th which is about now. The Old Farmers’ Almanac say last freeze date for Milwaukee is April. I do have some frost damage on the early rises. But now with climate change, we are really guessing within reason…

Great haul Debra, i got order from Hornbakers last year, got very nice plants too. Like how corrugated this new membership plant is.

Do you usually prepare beds/placement in advance?

Nice plants Debra! You will love Little Treasure, it is a marvelous plant here. my early emergers handled the frost here really well.

Well lindalana, I don’t do any prep like adding nutrients to the soil, though maybe I should…. I do take empty pots and turn them upside down in the garden where I want the hostas to go. I prepare ahead of time by making lists, sun vs shade, size and color so I have an idea where I want to plant them.

I also love the AHS membership hosta, very corrugated.
