Please help with decor!!

Desperately need wall decor ideas for our morning room (off of our kitchen).

i dont want to add a table because it would get in the way walking into the room. Looking for ideas of what to add go the walls to add some color to the room.

I’m confused - you don’t want to add a table? What kind of table are you meaning? You already have a very large dining table there. For wall art, the space above cat scratching post is the only option I see for a large art piece. What does the 3rd wall across from that wall look like? I see 2 windows as on the cat post wall - is there open space there too?

Curtains with a pattern and some original art would add nice color.

looks like there is a separation from the kitchen, good opportunity to paint just that space.

a fresh morning greeter. a single large art canvas Greatbigcanvas.com

I'm so hesitant to add curtains because we really want the room to stay light and open. We just added the blinds last month.

There are 3 walls in that room (where the 4th wall would be is open to the kitchen).

Two walls are all windows. The wall I want to add something to is the 2 windows and then just that bgi space (where the cat scratcher is).

I said no table because a lot of people earlier had commented adding a side buffet table, but it would impede where we walk (and we already have one on the kitchen side).

If you add curtains, they would be more for decorative color than functional. Hang them high and wide so they don't cover any part of the window. Everything in that space is the same tone, so I think adding texture or some color would give the room dimension. I like the grasscloth idea too!

I personally would use this wallpaper. even if you only used it on the patio door wall.

with all your Beautiful windows, this paper would make you feel like you are outdoors.

Just a hint of twigs and birds. (With the bottom cut off)

@jamiek1882 I agree with your hesitation to add curtains, even only side panels for color. Seems like they’d clutter up the walls & looks like the view outside is to wide open spaces. I also agree no side buffet table. For window treatments in addition to the blinds, I wonder how a box tailored valance would look? For the side windows, 1 valance mounted at ceiling over each of the 2 sets of windows. For back wall windows, mount at same height as side windows, 1 over windows, another over the slider. I’d want to see a virtual mockup of that. My thought is the valances, purely decorative, would add some interest to walls. Then also add a large art piece with coordinating color over cat’s post. If you don’t use or need place mats on table, how about a runner with long narrow centerpiece of something that’s not a floral arrangement & the whole thing can be left in place when using table as wouldn’t be in way of casual eating at table.

Patterned drapes- they wouldn’t block the light, large art for the wall on the right and swap out the 2 head chairs for a color chair. I like the idea of wall paper for that area too

Your room doesn't need color. It needs texture and contrast some dynamic shapes

I think your walls should be painted a shade similar to your chairs

I think the chandelier shape for this room doesn't work

I would install white faux linen drapery panels

Is your rug non-negotiable? It's nice but changing it out would be an easy way to add color and interest. A slightly darker color would help ground the room and give the eye a natural place to rest.

A large dark wooden tray with succulents on your table and your counter would be an easy way to make the spaces more interesting.

My issue with curtains is that I don't see a lot of clearance between the windows or at the corners. Even if you don't plan on using the curtains, you still need proper fullness so they don't look skimpy. The fullness may interfere with your view. Everything would have to be carefully measured.

It's a great room, all you need is a few tweaks to take it to the next level.

Drapery panels, as shown, will bring the eye to the view. Hung high and wide the light will not be impeded. Even sheer panels will do the trick IMO. Substantial rods and rings will add to the appeal.

Your going to hate me for saying this, but that chandelier is so flat and brings nothing to the space. if you had a nice light fixture the room would be focused on that. Curtians would be nice but I always hate how they get in the way of sliding glass doors. Hanging a picture will help but it will only bee seen fully when at the table. id also remove that olive tree, she looks jammed into a corner there. This might be a case for less is more. It also might be a good idea to paint the room or change the carpet. I just went bold with the rug to show how much it could change the room.

Thank you all for the help!

Does anyone have specific curtain and/or rug suggestions?

I've been searching online but I'm so overwhelmed!
