I am going on the (almost) new construction and thinking about pocket doors.

Originally, I thought to use pocket doors in most of the places, but my contractor didn't recommend it because the pocket door is prone to be broken and difficult to fix it once broken.

Being scared by what my contractor said, I decided to use only two pocket doors at necessary places. And I researched about the pocket frame a lot and Cavity seems to be trustworthy although expensive.

However, my contractor said he has never installed Cavity (specifically he is worried about using aluminum material) and unsure how to finish it. For example, he is unsure how to attach drywall or molding on the aluminum frame. (whether nailing or bonding.) Then he suggested Johnson pocket door kit.

My interior door dealer said Johnson could be a little bit more noise while sliding. But functionally it is also as much durable as Cavity.

Here's my concern.

I am reluctant to strongly push my contractor to install Cavity, because he could have installed it in a wrong way due to the lack of Cavity (or aluminum material) experiences. I cannot hire somebody else only for pocket door because he manages all the construction.

So I am wondering if it is ok to be satisfied with Johnson pocket frame. As long as the door is functionally ok for a long time, the noise sound is not that much matter for me.
