We are supposed to be 31. More than a little nerve wracking! But, it will barely dip into 31 before immediately beginning to warm

Just west of Boston, we were below freezing from about midnight to 7 AM with a low of 27.1.

Haven't inspected for damage yet.

My thermometer at 5 this morning said 28. There was ice in my birdbath. I am dreading the results.

Barrheadlass thanks for posting this. I've been so busy and haven't been paying close attention to the weather, and honestly didn't expect a frost or freeze now. But I saw your post and just in case I went out last evening and covered all my annuals and seedlings. Luckily I've been so busy that I haven't planted anythiing out. I was griping about that earlier this week but now I'm glad I didn't lol!

Just got up and 34 degrees today…which was NOT forecast. I had planted all my annuals last weekend. I covered all my pots but had too many others to cover. My tithonia died, heliotropes don’t look good, a couple of others may not make it, but overall, most things are ok or only slightly damaged. I’m glad my warning helped, Dee!

We hit 25, and even though I covered a lot, lost a lot as well.

Our magnolia was in full bloom, all the flowers died!

@tkin…so sorry to hear that!

@Barrheadlass thank you - in fairness, we are zone 4B, and the previous owners planted this magnolia which I would have never thought to do. It has done very well in the ten years we've been here!
