Can You Identify This Rose?

I visited a friend's garden yesterday. She said this rose was Champneys' Pink Cluster. I said I did not think so--at least it did not look like the rose I purchased as Champneys' many years ago. She said it was given to her by an older friend, now dead. My recollection is that this friend did not have Champneys' but she did have Blush Noisette although I don't recall seeing it in bloom. This rose does not look like the Blush Noisette I bought from the same nursery where I bought Champneys'. Is there more than one rose in commerce with both of these names? My Champneys and Blush Noisette are twiggy in the manner of Chinas with smaller leaves. This rose is robust and has the most intense fragrance I have ever experienced. The spray in the photographs is enough to perfume a room.

I can smell it from ten feet away. I took the attached pictures about 20 minutes ago and I can still detect the faint scent of the rose even though it is no longer in the room.

Thank you for the pictures. The flowers appear to be similar, and some of the clusters on your rose appear to be quite large. There are several smaller clusters on the single stem I brought home from my friend's garden with a total of about 35 buds. Only three are open (with a few dry petals remaining from a fourth), and those three produce the intense fragrance that wafts and lingers in the room.

The unusually strong fragrance and the large number of buds/flowers per stem are the defining characteristics of this rose.

I suspect that there are roses sold under the names 'Champney's Pink' and 'Blush Noisette' and are the same or similar varieties. I used to have both and could barely tell them apart.

Blush Noisette does well for me, but Champneys' has never grown tall and produces only a few blooms in a season. Its flowers are always pink with fewer petals. The Musk ancestor is one of my best performers, both the double I bought and the single I grew from seed.

If the wonderfully-fragrant rose is one of the two, then it was probably sold as Blush Noisette. I recall thinking that the Blush Noisette at Lewis Ginter seemed to have larger, prettier blooms than mine.

I don't know enough about Hybrid Musks to identify a variety which resembles this rose.
