I found this about Balboa Mist:

Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist is a gorgeous light greige with soft violet undertones. It is most commonly used as a wall color, and sometimes as a cabinet color.

If your fireplace brick is red, then with the white limewash some of the warm pink tone will come through, which would contrast nicely with the violet undertones of Balboa Mist.

Mix warm and cool tones in your design color scheme to play up that contrast--and along with white-- will make the rooms light and bright and cohesive. These show the concept.

The wall with the metal on it is the fireplace wall . I am going to use Portola limewash paint for drywall on the fireplace wall . Should I go with a lighter or darker color for fireplace wall . The entire room will be BM balboa mist . Floors are light grey hardwood . Ceiling and trim is white . Kitchen cupboards are white and island is white with absolute black granite top.

It sounds like all the surfaces will be light gray, white or off-white except for the granite, so the room will need some weight to ground the space. And you have a lot of light.

I would go with a darker wash like a shade of Charcoal Gray...balance the tone of the granite. Get something with cool or violet undertones to pick up those same undertones in the Balboa Mist. What about Half Life?

I love your idea of the limewash...so much texture and depth. As far as install and application of the product, I'm not an expert.

Your floor is light gray hardwood. Might make a difference here as far as selecting wall and FP colors. Make sure to get paint and wood samples to view in the actual room.
