Do you mean a harp?

While you have it apart, I think you could add some sort of brass spacer where I’ve drawn the arrow.

Mtn, the lamp does have that harp base attached. But, the shade is one where you remove the bulb, slide the circular fitting onto the bulb base and then screw the bulb back on. The shade is so low that you can't even see the harp when it's on.

Does that make sense? Oy.

Per bbstx's post, think I need to remove the harp base and then find some kind of extender to elongate the neck. I was hoping there would be an easier solution. I really like the shade.

Deegw, the easier solution would be to return the shade and find one that uses a harp. I don’t mean to sound like a smart aleck, but truly that would be easiest thing to do. Then you could adjust the vertical position of the shade by using a larger harp. I’m not a fan of uno shades. I’ve always had trouble keeping them straight.

If your lamp is easy to take apart, I think a tube - brass or some other material would work as an extender. You might use a scrap piece of copper pipe - or PVC...

I shopped my closet for the shades so I can't return them. They are very close to working, I was hoping there would be an easy solution. Oh well.

Google 'bulb socket extender' It looks like there are different kinds and sizes. Maybe you can use more than one to get to the height you want.

You can maybe go to lighting store and checkout the chandelier flame bulb covers that are different metal finishes meant to cover the base of the bulb.
