Did you plant any bulbs over recent years? Sometimes random types get into the wrong category. And squirrels move bulbs around. I see two of these in your second picture.

These things like full sun and it looks like you have a fair bit of shade. A previous owner vould have planted it a decade ago and it might just be blooming now.

Trust me on this the previous owner didnt plant it. it must have been me. i have ordered hundreds if bulbs over the last 25 years. i never order just one . it will to remain a pleasant mystery. it is a lively flower i think

Don’t think it matters. But given the smaller size perhaps an offset.

P.s. I am extremely short sighted so enlarging and peering very closely are second nature. 🤓
