Building a Home Porches & Decks Remodeling

Wood Nailed to House Column

Hi All,

We are currently bulding our home and someone nailed this to our front column. Any idea what this could be for / why someone would do this? My construction manager doesn’t know either.

I know someone who ended up with a little bump out in their hallway that nobody knew what was for, and did not appear on the drawings. They tracked it back, and someone had set a 2x4 in the hallway, someone else saw it and nailed it to the framing, then the rockers saw it and put drywall and corner bead on it and it got spackled and nobody really questioned it up to that point when it was to the point of ready to be painted.

Maybe someone put it there as a temporary prop for a ladder or something and didn't tell the construction manager.
