pool retaining wall / bond beam with waterfall feature design

Hi all,
I am about to put in a pool which will be at the base of a slope. We will have a 3" retaining wall behind which will be a big part of the visuals from the house. I am looking for a clean, modern, So. Cal aesthetic. I love this wood look slat porcelain tile and am thinking about using it on the back wall probably laid horizontally. Thoughts?
(not any specific brand but this look)
