This is supposed to be Cowgirl Spurs X Stinger, but I have my doubts. It looks more like something that would come from Landon Lee X Cobraskin Necktie, a cross I made in the same year.

The No Boys Allowed seedling is interesting with the flat form and huge throat/watermark center. The Ruth Watkins Davidson is indeed very pretty, with strong ruffling and veined texture. I haven't seen Fancy Lace offered, so suspect it is not a fast multiplier. At any rate, not a plant for the north.

Mantis - Thanks for your comment on the No Boys seedling. I think it is pretty unique, and I need to get it in a better sun position and give it some room to improve. I was so happy to see Ruth Watkins Davidson looking so pretty yesterday. Last year it had just been planted shortly before the month of 98-100 degree temps hit, and when it bloomed the flowers didn't have much pink in them. They were cream.

You know the pink in me likes Ruth Watkins Davidson! The Color of Wonderful photo is lovely-mine seems lighter in color. I am thinking I really like the No Boys Allowed seedling.

Nice group! Fancy Lace and Marlee Jane are my faves of this bunch. Fuchsia Sunrise also catches my attention.

Kate - I didn't know you had gotten The Color of Wonderful. Where did you find it? Browns Ferry hasn't sold it for a couple of years, and I've had people ask me about a source. I do think The Color of Wonderful varies in color according to temperature. how much sun it gets, and water. My picture was taken after a cool night and after I had watered it for a long time. Last year in the long spell of heat was the first time it had ever looked coral for me. Here it's usually rose pink.

The No Boys seedling lost most of its buds in the heat last year, and I didn't even see it bloom then because it was so short. This year it's quite a bit taller and has a few more buds, but it's still got a low bud count. But I'm telling myself that's because it's planted in back of huge, dormant foliage and it isn't getting enough light. I will find it a premium piece of real estate later this year.

Brad - Fancy Lace is one of my top favorites this season. Marlee Jane is a bright color that can't be missed.

Marlee Jane is an orange shade that appeals to me. I had access to this one a few years back from someone who knew of my fondness for orange, but he said it did fade in the PM in high heat so I passed. It looks dynamite for you..........I did something I don't normally do. I took a picture early in the morning of The Color Of Wonderful before the sun worked on it and it was a darker color - more like yours - as you said. It still had that wonderful shade of true pink to it that I really like, so if that stays stable, I'll take it either way.....That trio of Ehren Thomas is beautiful. I do so like the white edges on darker colors............Maryl

Maryl - Yes, your photo of The Color of Wonderful looks very much like what I see in the mornings. Mine is in shade until about 10 a.m. I have Marley Jane planted where it gets shade by about 2 p.m., so I've never really seen it fade badly.

Debra, I have had Color of Wonderful for three years. It is in partial shade and has not multiplied well. I got it from Windyhill Daylilies. I just checked and they still sell it.

The color of Wonderful is lovely and Fancy Lace is very pretty like the color and shape of Porterhouse, but my favorites are your two seedlings. I can't decide which one I like best, but I think the No boys Allowed wins out by a tisker. I so like Twirling Tower and your Cowgirl Spurs X Stinger seedling is very pretty whether it is named right or not.

Color of Wonderful has been a poor grower here and short. Blooms are on the small side. Parent Leslie Renee was also a poor performer here. I would describe the color as coral pink, as registered.

Kate and Mantis - I'm surprised Color of Wonderful has grown so poorly for you two. It's always been a vigorous grower here and a super multiplier and rebloomer. I have it planted in part shade now. I think I have 12 or 13 fans of it, and I've divided it twice over the years for trades. In my garden, I would say it's definitely in the top 20 performers and definitely my best pink rebloomer other than Dearest Valentine. Here the blooms always seem larger than the registered 5.5 inches. Since I have it planted in part shade, the bud count is never that high (8-12) but because there are so many scapes, and they keep on coming, it has beautiful groups of blooms for many weeks. It must have found its sweet spot here. It's never been 31 inches tall. Scapes usually range from 26-28 inches in my garden.
